This 170m AIT-1 Data Cartridge, offers an uncompressed capacity of 25GB (50GB compressed). It has a 16k memory chip embedded in the tape cartridge to store a table of contents and file location information. The tape has two coatings which guarantee high performance. A hyper evaticle layer is a 100% cobalt dual magnetic layer which assures high output. There is also a DLC (Diamond Like Coating) protective layer increases durability and archivability. Only compatible with the 8MM AIT tape drives.
